Ladies Who Brunch
Mimosas + summer trends + best friends = Ladies Who Brunch
Calling all ladies who brunch! What better way to start the week than with a delicious mid-day brunch with your favorite ladies? We found the perfect summer spot and had to share: Bridge House Tavern on the river!
This stifling summer Chicago heat calls for some chilled rosé and a comfortable yet chic brunch ensemble. Luckily, at Bridge House Tavern, we had both! There is sometimes no greater stress reliever than spending time with loyal girlfriends with a refreshing summer drink in hand — and can we talk about this view??!
The beautiful riverside spot is located beneath the hustle and bustle of Clark Street and has gorgeous city views — and we may have found one of the best people-watching locations in the city! Only an hour after opening on a Tuesday morning, the patio was already full! This restaurant is certainly a place to see-and-be-seen; in case you needed an excuse to debut your favorite summer outfits among some of the city’s most fashionable young residents, Bridge House Tavern is it!
An attentive staff means your glass is never empty, and while this spot seemed to be bustling as soon as it opened, it never assumed an air of pretentiousness. You’ll be at home among a crowd of savvy city dwellers. As for the menu, Sunday brunch is bursting with classics, as well as unique dishes you’d be hard pressed to find anywhere else in the city. Sunday brunch includes favorites like the Strawberries & Cream Waffles, Crab Cake Benedict, and even a section called “Hangover Helpers” stuffed with items like “Wicked Tots”, and Steak & Eggs. Of course, the crowd favorite, Beignets flavored with cinnamon maple and Bailey’s Whipped Cream, is a must-have!
We actually sampled the summer lunch menu, which was just as spectacular. The summer menu has an immense range of options to satisfy any palate, from steaks to seafood, salads and sandwiches. We ended up starting with the Cheese Board, an array of three different cheeses complimented by honey, spiced nuts, fresh fruit, and sunflower raisin bread chips. Surprisingly filling and enough for two to comfortably share, this yummy dish also pairs exceptionally well with the wine list! Ordered with a glass of rosé, the light and fruity taste of the drink enhanced the nutty and earthy notes found in the cheeses.
If rosé is not your thing, the extensive drink list fits any price range and any taste, with everything from bourbon and scotch to beers, sparkling wines, and specialty cocktails, apart from classic red and whites.
And of course to top off a perfect brunch, we needed the perfect ensemble to compliment the beautiful patio weather! Our blue ladder back dress paired with wedges escalates a simple dress to a brunch appropriate outfit. Wedges are the perfect summer shoe, dressy but comfortable for lots of walking around the city. The ladder back of this dress keeps you cool and on-trend, while the blue color is vibrant and perfect to show off that tan! And of course, a wide brim straw hat is always a summer staple!
We are simply loving soaking up the sun during these dog days of summer while exploring some of the city’s best spots in some of our best outfits! Grab your favorite ladies who brunch and enjoy a great meal with a beautiful view!
